2月25日，中越陆地边界云南段勘界工作表彰大会在昆明召开，四川省第三测绘工程院被云南省人民政府授予云南段勘界工作先进集体荣誉称号。

　　根据国家测绘局的安排，四川省第三测绘工程院配合云南省外办开展中越陆地边界勘界工作。该院对此项任务高度重视，专门成立中越陆地边界勘界项目部，共抽调26名业务素质好、技术能力强的测绘人员参与勘界工作。在2000年至2009年的10年时间里，勘界测绘人员在外交部、国家测绘局、云南省政府、四川测绘局以及云南省中越边界工作领导小组的领导下，与外办、公安、武警、边防人员紧密配合，共同努力，运用现代化的地理信息系统、全球定位系统和遥感等技术手段，共确定和精确测量了665块界碑，准确勘定了754公里（图上距离）边界线，起草并签署了2487份勘界文本。在勘界工作中，为维护国家主权和领土完整，促进中越两国睦邻友好，测绘人员舍小家，为国家，每年在国境线上奋战十多个月，十年如一日，默默奉献，扎实工作。他们以超乎常人的毅力，以顽强的作风克服了恶劣的自然环境和雷障的威胁，排除了重重困难，以实际行动践行了“热爱祖国、忠诚事业、艰苦奋斗、无私奉献”的测绘精神，完成了党和人民交给的光荣而神圣的使命。中越陆地边界云南段勘界工作情况报告高度赞扬了测绘人员以国家利益为重，舍小家顾大家的崇高精神。
