　　来到李青家中，见到已92岁高龄的李老依然耳聪目明、思维敏捷，徐德明非常高兴。李青1936年参加革命，离休后，李老每天坚持读报学习，常年不辍。提起测绘，李老激动地说：“看到测绘事业发展能有今天这样的喜人景象，感到十分高兴，也倍受鼓舞。局党组一直高度重视老干部工作，把我们照顾得很好，感谢局领导的关怀。”徐德明握住老人的手，真诚地说：“今年是新中国成立60周年，遵照党中央、国务院的要求，我代表党组织来看望您。您们是打江山的功臣，党和人民不会忘记您们。您离休在家仍然坚持理论学习，依然对共产主义、对党有坚定的理想信念，这值得我们好好学习。我们绝不辜负老同志的希望，一定会抓住机遇，集中精力，扎实工作，不断把事业推向前进。”

　　走进晨虹的家中，徐德明久久握住老人的手，关切地询问她的生活和健康状况，并与她一起回忆当年国家测绘总局创建时的艰苦岁月。徐德明说，陈外欧等老一辈革命家缔造了新中国的测绘事业，为我们打下了千秋基业。我们将继承老一辈不怕牺牲、勇于拼搏、吃苦耐劳、甘于奉献的光荣传统，努力推动测绘事业又好又快发展。徐德明希望老人多用他们的革命经历教育后代，将“热爱祖国、忠诚事业、艰苦奋斗、无私奉献”的测绘精神薪火相传。
