　　焦利观看了主楼大厅的整体布置，边观看边听徐德明介绍基地建设的情况，对国家测绘局在短短8个月内建成现代化、花园式的中国测绘创新基地表示祝贺。对在二层回廊展示的明代长城《九边图》，石质浮雕《禹迹图》《九州山川实证总图》，距今2500年的《兆域图》，清康熙年间的《黄河图》等古地图珍品复制品以及各种传统和现代测量仪器，他表现出浓厚的兴趣。当看到摆在一起展示的1907年北京城市与周边地区地图和2008年北京城市及周边卫星影像图时，他驻足良久。在中华人民共和国大地原点模型前，他向身边的测绘专家询问大地原点建在什么地方，怎么使用。在当前世界最先进、面积最大的数字沙盘室，他聚精会神地观看了《中国测绘》专题片和“神州遨游”演示系统。在26层的中国测绘科技展厅，他先后观看了领导关怀、珠峰测量、历史沿革、极地测绘、科技创新、“影像中国”互动系统、测绘保障服务、地理信息产业发展、数字地球等各部分展示。焦利对中国测绘创新基地将建为一流的科研创新基地、服务管理基地、文化建设基地和科普教育基地表示赞赏。

　　徐德明代表国家测绘局，对前不久中央电视台派出10多位记者深入青藏高原，对国测一大队先进事迹进行深度采访，制作播出系列高质量新闻节目，有力地弘扬了测绘精神表示衷心感谢。焦利表示，测绘工作在促进经济社会科学发展中具有重要作用，中央电视台将进一步加强对测绘工作的宣传，为测绘工作在全面建设小康社会中发挥更大作用营造良好的舆论氛围。
