Yesterday (27) days, the National Mapping Bureau and the Ministry of Construction of China jointly announced the elevation data of the 19 famous mountains. This is the second released in 2005 after elevation of Mount Everest, China once again announced peaks important class of geographic information and data.

The announcement of the 19 mountain elevation data are: Taishan 1532.7 meters, Huashan 2154.9 meters, Hengshan 1300.2 meters, 2016.1 meters Hengshan, Songshan 1491.7 meters, Mount Wutai 3061.1 meters, Yuntaishan 624.4 meters, Putuo Mountain 286.3 meters, Yandang 1108.0 meters , Huangshan 1864.8 meters, Jiuhuashan 1344.4 meters, Lushan 1473.4 meters, Jinggangshan 1597.6 meters, Sanqingshan 1819.9 meters, Longhushan 247.4 meters, Laoshan 1132.7 meters, Wudang 1612.1 meters, Mount Qingcheng 1260.0 meters, Mount Emei 3079.3 meters.
 
Mountain elevation is an important geographic information and data. Li Weisen, deputy director the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, said, at present, many of our mountain elevation data is not unified, inaccurate, and some even a difference of nearly 100 meters.

According to reports, comprehensive consideration of visibility, influence, measurement conditions and factors such as national security, based on the National Mapping Bureau of China's state-level key scenic spots (including the World Heritage) within the 78 well-known mountain elevation into the announcement by the State important geographic information and data areas. In late July 2006 until early March 2007, the first batch of 19 well-known peaks of the elevation measurements completed, obtained more accurate data. In the future will be released successively in batches of other famous mountains of the elevation data.
