　　报告分为“数字地球及其取得的成就”、“物联网的出现及其发展”、“从数字地球到智慧地球”、“智慧地球的架构及其典型应用”、“建设海南国际旅游岛地理信息公共服务平台的建议”五个部分。李德仁在报告中旁征博引，通过“数字泰州”、“数字潜江”、“影像城市——武汉”等大量生动的应用典型案例和形象的图表，深入浅出地讲解地理信息公共服务平台的建设原理、应用领域和作用，并结合当前海南国际旅游岛热潮，提出建设海南国际旅游岛地理信息公共服务平台的必要性。

　　科技报告会的举办，对普及测绘知识，宣传测绘成果应用成效，进一步提高测绘在海南国际旅游岛建设中的作用具有重大意义。
