2009年9月15日，GIS人又一次迎来了自己的节日——GIS节。第二届GIS节以“GIS 照亮人生”为主题，旨在通过全球第一中文3S门户3sNews网络互动、超图开放日、活动支持和寻找天生“GIS”人等多种活动形式，号召所有热爱GIS的团体和个人普及GIS知识、推广GIS，共同庆祝GIS的节日，从而引起了社会各界的广泛反响。

　　由超图软件于2008年首次发起倡议的“GIS节”，倡导将每年的 9月15日定为GIS人共同的节日（9.15-gis：915和gis非常形似），以增强大众对GIS的了解，扩大GIS的影响力，促进业界交流。

　　首届GIS节在北京和新疆两地成功举办，通过对GIS技术从理论到实践的全面展示，共同分享了GIS带给人们的快乐，为普通大众提供一个了解GIS、近距离接触GIS的平台，从而促进了GIS的普及与推广，有力地推动了GIS产业持续而快速的发展。

　　目前，第二届GIS节各项活动正在全国各地如火如荼地开展，掀起了新一轮的GIS热潮。与去年不同，第二届GIS节的影响范围更加广泛，特别是在高校中的反响最为强烈。武汉大学、中南大学、福州大学、成都理工大学、西南科技大学、山东科技大学、河北师范大学、南京林业大学、南京信息工程大学、南京农业大学等十几所高校均以各自独特的活动形式庆祝了第二届GIS节。

　　为迎接第二届GIS节，超图软件也以拓展活动、羽毛球友谊赛、为“9.15－天生GIS人”过生日等多种活动形式与所有GIS人携手，共同推进GIS的应用与发展，积极地宣传GIS，让更多人了解关注和支持GIS行业的发展，让GIS理念越来越深入人心。

Wuhan University, Central South University, Fuzhou University, Chengdu University of Technology, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Shandong University of Technology, Hebei Normal University, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing Information Engineering University, Nanjing Agricultural University, etc. are more than a dozen colleges and universities to celebrate its own unique form of activity the second session of the GIS section.
