为庆祝中国地理信息系统(GIS)研究与应用三十年，美国环境系统研究所(下称ESRI)“分享地理价值——中国的GIS之路”活动，日前在北京宣布启动。该活动通过回顾中国GIS从无到有、从小到大、从弱到强的历程，与大家一起见证新中国成立以来，中国地理信息产业的成长、发展与辉煌。

　　地理价值分享活动自一九九四年举办首届至今，已成为在中国进行地理信息科学最新理念、最新技术、最新应用成果分享和传播的重要活动和阵地之一，受到业内外人士的普遍关注。

　　中国的地理信息系统研究与应用发端于一九七六年，中国科学院已故院士陈述彭教授在国内首次提及“地理信息系统”概念。一九七八年冬，ESRI总裁Jack Dangermond 受陈老先生邀请访华，作了为期数周的讲座，赠送给中国科学院相关的GIS软件和源代码，并联合开展GIS研究和人才培养。

　　ESRI中国总裁何宁在接受记者采访时表示，陈述彭院士于一九八零年组建中国科学院遥感应用研究所第五研究室，成为中国第一个从事GIS研究应用的专门机构。一九八五年，中科院建立“资源与环境信息系统国家重点开放实验室”，Jack Dangermond受聘学术委员会委员。一九八八年，ESRI向中国近百个科研单位以及大专院校赠送了一百套ARC/INFO产品，这也成为中国GIS得以快速发展的重要条件。上世纪九十年代初期，中国GIS产业进入起步阶段。之后近二十年，中国GIS的应用范围扩大，应用模式升级，产业规模壮大，进入了加速发展阶段。四川“汶川地震”灾害、“2008北京奥运”，ESRI都为其提供了大量必不可少的软件支持和技术保障。

　　何宁表示，地球上超过80%的信息与空间位置有关，地理信息应用前景非常广泛，已经渗透到国民经济、日常生活的每个角落，为提高整个社会的管理、决策水平发挥着重要作用。尤其是将社会属性与空间数据信息结合起来以后，作用将更大。

　　此次活动，由中国地理信息系统协会主办，活动的各项成果将在第八届ESRI中国用户大会上集中展示，大会将于十月二十日在北京国际会议中心举行。

China's Geographic Information System and Its Application began in 1976, the late Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician Professor Chen Shupeng the first time in reference to "geographic information systems" concept. 1978 winter, ESRI president Jack Dangermond's visit to China by the invitation of old Mr Chen made for several weeks of talks, presented to the relevant Chinese Academy of Sciences of the GIS software and source code, and joint GIS research and training of personnel.


ESRI president, He Ning of China, said in an interview, Chen Shupeng Academy of Sciences in 1980 to form the Fifth Research Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, becoming China's first GIS research and application in the specialized agencies. In 1985, Chinese Academy of Sciences to establish a "Resource and Environment, State Key Laboratory of Information Systems", Jack Dangermond employed by the academic committee. In 1988, ESRI to China nearly a hundred research institutes and universities, donated 100 sets of ARC / INFO product, which has become China's rapid development of GIS can be an important condition. The early nineties of last century, the Chinese GIS industry entered the initial stage. After nearly two decades, China's expansion of the application of GIS, application mode upgrade, expand scale of the industry has entered a phase of accelerated development. Sichuan "Wenchuan Earthquake" disaster, "2008 Beijing Olympic Games", ESRI is essential to provide a large number of software support and technical support.


Ning said that the earth more than 80% of the spatial location information related to the prospects for a wide range of geographic information applications, has infiltrated into the national economy and in every corner of daily life in order to enhance the management of society as a whole, play an important role in the decision-making level. In particular, the social attributes and spatial data together after the effect would be greater.


The event, by the China Association for Geographic Information Systems, organized activities, the results will be the eighth ESRI User Conference in China to focus on the show will be held October 20 at the Beijing International Conference Center.
