9月8日，中国测绘创新基地正式启用当天，国土资源部部长、党组书记、国家土地总督察徐绍史，国土资源部副部长、党组副书记、国家土地副总督察鹿心社，国土资源部副部长、党组成员贠小苏、汪民，中纪委驻国土资源部纪检组组长王世元，国土资源部党组成员、国家土地副总督察甘藏春一行在国土资源部党组成员、国家测绘局党组书记、局长徐德明和国家测绘局领导班子全体成员的陪同下，专程视察了中国测绘创新基地。

　　18时45分，刚刚结束调研工作的徐绍史风尘仆仆地来到中国测绘创新基地。徐绍史兴致勃勃，脸上看不出一丝倦意。在一楼大厅，徐绍史仔细地查看了各项布置，认真听取了徐德明关于大厅东墙上展示的“热爱祖国，忠诚事业，艰苦奋斗，无私奉献”的测绘精神的介绍。在二楼回廊展出的展品前，徐绍史认真听取了中国历代地图的介绍，并不时提出问题。在明代长城《九边图》前，当工作人员说到今年完成的明长城测量时，徐绍史马上准确地说出了“8851.8千米”的长度数据。在目前国际上最先进的数字沙盘室，徐绍史观看了演示，对立体中国地图表现出浓厚的兴趣。在“宋泽盛仪器”前，徐绍史了解到国测一大队的宋泽盛烈士就是为了保护这台仪器而牺牲，他动情地说：“这台仪器你们得好好地保管。”徐绍史一行还视察了国家基础地理信息中心机房和中国测绘科学研究院等单位的工作场所，仔细察看了会议室、学术报告厅、礼堂、办公室等场所。

　　在视察过程中，徐绍史多次高度肯定以徐德明为班长的国家测绘局领导班子通过开展深入学习实践科学发展观活动，提高了政治意识、大局意识、责任意识，增强了领导测绘事业又好又快发展的责任感、紧迫感，坚持解放思想、改革创新，积极科学论证、攻坚克难，千方百计改善测绘科研、生产、服务和管理工作条件，尽心尽力推动测绘事业发展。徐绍史激动地说：“看到中国测绘创新基地建成，老高兴了，老提气了，老感动了。”徐绍史还与参加基地工程建设的几位测绘系统基层职工亲切交谈，对他们发扬测绘精神，吃苦耐劳、夜以继日、无私奉献，用短短5个月的时间就完成了中国测绘创新基地建设工程给予高度赞扬。鹿心社、贠小苏、汪民、王世元、甘藏春也都对中国测绘创新基地的落成给予充分肯定和高度赞扬。

　　视察结束时，徐绍史高兴地与大家合影留念，并勉励测绘系统广大干部职工在新的更好的工作条件下，立志创新，锐意进取，多出佳绩，为祖国建设作出更大贡献。
