日前，国家基础地理信息中心与中国文化遗产研究院共同组织制定的明长城专题要素图式符号正式公布，并开始应用于明长城专题影像图与分省明长城分布图的生产。

　　该图式符号由长城墙体、长城单体建筑、长城相关遗存、关和堡等四类28种元素组成。文物与测绘专家联合评议认为，该图式符号充分体现了文物地图集的符号特点，反映了长城专题要素特征，具有形象、直观、实用等特点。经过明长城沿线10省（区）专题影像图的试生产，证明这些图式符号具有良好的表达效果。

　　与此同时，中国文化遗产研究院正将明长城专题要素图式符号申请为《长城资源要素分类、代码与图式》行业标准。这是文物系统在测绘系统的帮助下，首次采用行业标准对其所有的长城资源调查成果进行管理。明长城专题要素图式符号正式公布使用，对长城资源调查成果展示的标准化具有深远影响。
