王春峰在讲话时指出：基础测绘是公益性事业，是国民经济和社会发展的基础性工作，为各个行业和领域提供了重要的保障服务。近年来，我国基础测绘工作有了长足发展，建设和更新了国家测绘基准体系，测制和更新了国家基本比例尺地形图，建成了一批基础地理信息数据库，获取了覆盖全部陆地国土的卫星影像和超过80%陆地国土的航空影像，启用了2000国家大地坐标系，对珠穆朗玛峰高程、明长城长度进行了精确测量，为政府管理决策、宏观调控、重大工程论证规划等提供了丰富的基础地理信息数据，有力地支持了全国和地方经济建设。

　　王春峰希望，吉林省测绘局与四平市人民政府要加快工作步伐，早出成果、早见效，尽全力把“数字四平”建成服务四平科学发展的优秀工程，建成技术领先的示范工程，建成实用可靠、为四平人民造福的样板工程。
