近日，来到湖北省测绘局成果成就展览厅参观。各种测绘仪器、实物、图片，琳琅满目，记载着湖北测绘几十年的奋斗史、发展史和辉煌史。其中一个展柜陈列的物品———“小笔尖”，一下跃入我的眼帘，勾起了我对往事的回忆。
    “小笔尖”是传统测绘时代主要的生产工具之一，老一代测绘工作者对它是无人不知，无人不晓，关于它还有着许多鲜为人知的故事……
    那是在上世纪八十年代末期，西德测绘仪器专家到湖北省测绘局安装绘图仪器，闲暇之余，专家们来到第二测绘院编绘室观摩。作业室的“娘子军”们一个个身穿白大褂、手握绘图笔，那“小笔尖”在聚酯薄膜上形同流水一般，一笔笔、一划划，用线条和曲线把绵延起伏、形式多样的各种地物、地貌、植被，如同变魔术似地勾勒出各种美丽而不同的地形图。专家们看得目不转睛，纷纷伸出大拇指称赞道：“中国姑娘了不起！”
    要知道“娘子军”们这手如此熟练过硬的本领，可非一日之功呀！要想使各种绘画线条与字体圆滑流畅、均匀、饱满、实在，“小笔尖”的修磨、运笔技巧和字体的训练，都是非常重要的环节。
    “小笔尖”的修磨，可是一项“技术”活儿。记得当初二院“娘子军”们为了练就一手过硬的绘图本领，对“小笔尖”的修磨狠下了一番功夫。为了磨好“小笔尖”，她们夏练酷暑，冬练三九，刻苦训练，手指不知磨出了多少个水泡和血泡，长此以往有的还结成了厚厚的老茧。单位还结合实际开展了各种形式多样的“比、学、赶、帮”活动，坚持做到“小笔尖”不磨好不上图。在运笔技巧上，师傅手把手地教，徒弟认认真真地学，“严准精细”的测绘传统牢记心中。同志们在练习中组成“一帮一的对子”，有的“对子”最后竟还成了夫妻，不可谓收获不大。有的同志废寝忘食，一练到深夜；有的同志为了练习，多次谈恋爱失约；带病练习的更是数不胜数……功夫不负有心人，通过苦练、巧练，人人熟练掌握了一套研磨与使用“小笔尖”的科学方法。其中一些同志还因此练出了一手漂亮的仿宋字体而引以自豪哪！
    三十多年弹指一挥间。随着现代科技的快速发展，测绘技术手段发生了翻天覆地的变化，传统的手工绘图已经成为了历史，“小笔尖”也退出了测绘“舞台”，当年的“姑娘”们都已步入“老年”状态。然而，当年“姑娘”们用“小笔尖”绘图的情景深深地镌刻在测绘事业发展史的功劳薄上！
